The clock is ticking after protestors rallied outside City Hall this week with an ultimatum for Baltimore City Schools to remove the CEO in 12 days or face a class action lawsuit.
The protestors say the community is at a breaking point, and after decades of failure in Baltimore City Schools, they’re demanding action from the Baltimore City School Board, the Mayor’s office and City Council.
Shannon Wright, who ran for Baltimore City Mayor in 2020, was among the community members who rallied Tuesday evening, calling for Baltimore City Schools CEO Dr. Sonja Santelises to resign. Wright says if Santelises is not removed from her post by the 12-day deadline, a class action lawsuit will be filed against the Baltimore City School Board, the Mayor’s office and City Council.
