About this Event
We love the Irish -- who DOESN'T love the Irish, right?? That being said...there is no reason to queue up in a waterfront neighborhood with no parking only to push your way into a bar packed like sardines where few are masked and the music is too loud to converse and drunk patrons are spilling green beer. Sometimes we feel like doing that, but this year for St. Patrick's Day, we are offering a kinder gentler experience.
Meet us at the grand AMBASSADOR DINING ROOM on the patio (bring your fleece!) on WEDNESDAY, MARCH 17, 2021 from 7PM-9PM. Outdoor dining is safer during these crazy times, and the Ambassador has a fabulous covered patio with heaters. The Ambassador also has a huge indoor dining room if you prefer your climate to be temperate with your social distancing! There are known knowns during covid, with ventilation and high ceilings topping the list.
Join the vast right-wing conspiracy to support local small businesses, waiters and kitchen staff -- that is not voodoo economics. The menu is Indian food, with items ranging from $3-$30, and white tablecloth service. There is a full bar -- beer, wine, and liquor. Everyone pays for himself; the $5 cover does not include food or drink, but it DOES help our party with operating expenses, which is not fuzzy math. You can get your ticket here
The restaurant is hidden inside a grand Tudor high-rise apartment building with a long u-shaped driveway. Enter the building at the carriage entrance along the driveway (or porte cochere for you architectural buffs). Free parking on the surrounding streets or in the nearby parking lot which you get to by turning right off Canterbury Road just before the driveway entrance to the building.
The Ambassador Dining Room has some rules for dining during covid:
- Sanitize your hands upon entrance
- Face masks are compulsory when not seated
- Dining capacity is reduced to 50%; maximum of 8 people per table
- Do not move tables or chairs; move people instead
The restaurant closes at 9pm, so there is still plenty of time to find drunken debauchery and green beer afterward if you are looking for smoke-filled rooms. No need to tear down this wall between revelers and contemplators -- you can do both!
If you can't make it this Wednesday, we deplorables have a Republican Happy Hour every month at a different location in the City. Get on our mailing list ([email protected]) to ensure you receive details. It's morning again in America as we punch covid in the nose with our vaccines and get our freedoms back.
