How the Left Dehumanizes Illegal Immigrants While Pretending to Champion Them
By / June 17, 2025
We are long past the point where this can be brushed off as ignorance or good intentions gone wrong. What we’re hearing from many Democrats—and their allies in academia, media, and progressive activism—isn’t merely misguided policy. It is racism, plain and simple. A racism cloaked in false compassion and wrapped in the language of “equity,” but racism nonetheless.
Let’s get something straight: the left’s rhetoric about illegal immigration is not about humanity or dignity. It’s about exploitation. And it’s offensive—profoundly so. When prominent Democrat figures say things like, “Who will clean your bathrooms?” or “Who’s going to bus your tables and mow your lawns if you deport these people?” they’re not being inclusive. They’re being patronizing. They’re reducing an entire group of human beings to a permanent servant class.
They claim to be for justice. What they’re really pushing is Jim Crow with better PR.
I Grew Up with Legal Workers — And Real Vetting
Let me take you back for a moment. I didn’t grow up wondering who was going to clean the house or take care of the yard. We had maids. We had a gardener. My parents, like many others in upper-middle-class communities, hired people to help keep the house in order and the lawn trimmed. But they didn’t go to the corner and pick up someone without papers. My mom vetted them. My dad confirmed employment status. These workers had identification, references, and yes—legal status.
You see, the American dream isn’t built on cutting corners or exploiting people in the shadows. It’s built on process. Order. Law. And yes—respect.
The left doesn’t respect immigrants. They pity them. And that’s not the same thing.
Who Will Build Your Houses?
When MSNBC’s talking heads shriek about deportations and say, “But who will build the houses?” do they know how offensive that sounds? Do they think America didn’t have homes before waves of illegal migration?
This country built the Empire State Building in 13 months, long before mass illegal immigration. The Hoover Dam. The Golden Gate Bridge. America wasn’t built by people with fake Social Security cards working under the table. It was built by workers—yes, many immigrants—who came here legally and contributed under the same rules as everyone else.
What Democrats are implying is that Americans are too soft, too lazy, or too white to pick strawberries, frame a house, or wash dishes. You can’t say that out loud about any other group of people without being denounced as a bigot. But say it about American citizens? Suddenly it’s enlightened economic commentary.
It’s not. It’s racism with a smug smile.
The Party of Segregation Hasn’t Changed—They Just Rebranded
This shouldn’t surprise anyone. The Democratic Party is the party of slavery, the party of segregation, the party that filibustered civil rights. They’ve always seen people as groups, not as individuals. And they’ve always needed someone to be at the bottom of the ladder to justify their power and politics.
Now, instead of plantation owners, they have nonprofits. Instead of separate drinking fountains, they have sanctuary cities. Instead of calling Black Americans “the help,” they now refer to illegal aliens as “the labor force we can’t live without.”
That’s progress?
